Cullender Kindergarten

Drop-offs for PreK and Kinder are designated on the two lanes of the one-way street (11th) between the school and the park.  Please drop your child off in the area of the staffed crosswalk and do not block the entrances to the faculty parking lot. There are staff present beginning at 7:30 a.m. to monitor crosswalks and, if necessary, guide the students into the building.  

If you prefer to walk your child to the door, please leave your vehicle parked along the Park area on Leon Street and use either of the manned crosswalks.  Please do not park in staff parking in the front or side of the building, as this delays staff getting into the building to prepare for students' arrival.  

Please be aware of children and their unpredictable behavior and use extreme caution at all times whenever navigating in the school area. 

The entry door is open at 7:30 a.m. and remains open until 8 a.m.. Students arriving after 8 a.m. are considered tardy and will need to be checked in late through the office. Excessive tardiness is discouraged as learning begins at 8 a.m. 

Breakfast is served beginning at 7:30 a.m. and we suggest arrival before 7:50 a.m. to allow reasonable time to eat. 

Your Child’s Safety is always our first priority! Please try to be patient and kind. Once established the process will become very efficient and dismissal will be completed in approximately 15 minutes. Please Remember that all adult interactions are modeling how we want our children to behave

All car-riders will be dismissed in the pick-up line on the north side at 3:30 p.m.  There will initially be two lanes (the school side and the park side) and when traffic thins, the line will be reduced to the school side only. Please choose the side that allows your child to enter the vehicle from the curb instead of stepping into the street. 11th Street is a one-way street heading west; please follow the traffic laws.  

Please remain in your car unless there are special circumstances for loading your child.  There will be a school employee entering your Pickmykid tag number and others assisting with loading your child in your car. 

Students cannot be picked up through the car line without the appropriate car tag and will be directed to the office to wait for the conclusion of dismissal.  Walk-ups to the dismissal area can not be completed and will be directed to the office also.  

Please follow the directions of the crossing guard and do not, under any circumstances, pass by driving down the middle of the pick-up lane.

If you live near Cullender and walk to pick up your child, please contact your child’s teacher and the office to make the necessary arrangements.

If, on occasion, you need to make a transportation change, please do so on the PikMyKid app, or contact your child’s teacher and the office at 432-943-5252 by 2:45 p.m. If, when necessary, you need to pick your child up before the conclusion of the school day please plan to do so by 3 p.m.
